Note: I’ll edit
this story by uploading many photos, because there’re many photos from my
camera that in Zulfa’s laptop, so yeah, I’ve to waiting until I meet him when
the holiday end.
Actually, I’ve a plan to write this story in Saturday
morning (7/11) because I
arrived at my home in Friday night (7/10). I thought that it’ll be enough for me to take a rest
only one night, but I’m wrong. I really really tired until now (read: Tuesday
morning). It seems like my body told me to take a rest and made it felt comfort
for a long time.
Another problems, my feet still very hurt (for the reason that I dunno), and
also my face still in burn. Okay, my skin look more dark than before. #sobbing.
But, this morning, I press myself to start writing, because I afraid I’ll lost that
feels. No more najunge (나중에) LOL.
Okay, let’s start.
Ramadhan’s periode only about 3 days left. I almost spent
all of my ramadhan’s periode (about 13 days) not in my home, but in the place that you all can’t imagine about it.
Well, I’ll tell you later, so please be patient. I’ll do some opening sections
first.
By the way, today I want to tell all of my story using
english, because maybe there’s my
international friends who want to read this story too. #expectation . LOL.
Please don’t laugh because my english is very poor. I still very bad at
grammar, I just write using my heart so I feel so sorry.. very sorry guys.
For me, this story was the best story in my life until
now. Why? Because it’s just like answered the one of my dreams. AAAAAAKKKK #scream.
As you know, my dreams won’t far from something about Korea. LOL. I never
imagined that I can get this experience by studying in STKS!
Okay, now I just to excited so I feel so confused from
what can I start this story.
Oh come on
Nurul!!
So.. umm.. I’ll start my story from the beginning. From what’s
the program it is? how can I joined this program? And bla bla bla...
Yeah, it’ll
be good opening.
Before that, I want to tell you a secret.
It’s not really important but I want to thanks to my diary’s book. LOL.
Yeah. Everyday (among this program) I always spent my time to wrote the story
of that day in the little book (like a diary). Eventhough I feel so tired of
that day, I must to wrote on there. Why? Because I want to remember
every-single-moment in that day. So, if I didn’t write it, how can I remember
about it? And how can I wrote in this blog? kkkk So, thankyou very much for
you, my little book.
my diary during the program |
And by the way, every people have different story based
on their own memories, so this story is only from my side. If you want to know it
from another side, please ask 13 Indonesian’s students. I hope they want to
tell you too. LOL. Hope you enjoy it.
First, What
the name of the program which you joined, Nurul?
Honestly, when I heard the announcement about this
program, I really dunno what’s the name of it. I just knew that we’ll have a
program with Korean people (especially with University, Chonbuk National
University). I just to excited when heard about “Korea”. But lately, finally I
knew. This program is a voluntary program. They called it, Overseas Voluntary
Program for them, and for Indonesia, this is a Voluntary Program.
What will
you do there?
Many things, but
the first priority was did some social’s voluntary activities; like teached
student’s of Elementary school and Junior high school, did home visited to poor
family, disabilities, and aged people. And then, we also cleaned the village
(by doing GPS “Gerakan Pungut Sampah”).
And also did Festival village (in this time, we showed and did culture
exchanged between Indonesian and Korean). And we also got a vacation (this’s
out of our expectation!!)
With Whom
you will be undergoing this program?
Absolutely with Korean people, and especially with
Chonbuk National University (welcome and thankyou very much). And also, we got
many support by the villagers and childern who lived in there.
How long did
you spent your time in there?
Indonesian students and also Korean students arrived at
that place (I mean in Pengalengan, in Malabar’s Hotel) in 28th June.
But the program officially started in 29th June until 9th
July. But I got a special opportunity, so I finished this program with Korean
students at 10th July.
How can you
joined this program, Nurul?
Well, I didn’t join this program easily or instantly. I
did the registration, and then passed the first selection (administration’s
selection), and passed the second selection (interview’s selection) too. I
thought it’s not easy. And honestly, I thought it’ll be more students who joined the registration if
this program didn’t happen in holiday’s periode plus Ramadhan’s periode. Yeah,
to many reasons which bothered us.
For the first time, I thought like that too. I almost canceled to joined the
registration, but I thought that if you want to reach something, there’re many
things you may to let it go (read: my
holiday’s time). So forget about that
reasons, and I joined the registration. Alhamdulillah,
I passed the first selection. And I did the second selection called “Interview
selection”. I was little bit afraid because I really bad at english
convertation and this interview was happened aroud two hours before my statistic lecture semester’s
test. I’m going crazy.
But, thanks to Allah SWT, my God, I passed the test.
Yeaaaay!
There’re 13 students who passed the test too beside me. Awesome!! 대박!! But yeah, I don’t know them. So,
our campus gathered us before the holiday’s started. And that time, I
officially met them. For the first time, I feel little bit akward because
almost all of them was my seniors-nim. Oh
my God! In the first meet, we talked about what will happened during that
program, and also choose the time for us to meet again before the program
started.
We’ll meet at 23rd June for prepared all and we’ll go to the
place that you can’t imagine in 28th
June . So, we’ve about a week for free time before the meeting, and I choose to
back to my hometown. I miss my family.ㅋㅋㅋ.
What’re you do in 23rd
June until 28th June, Nurul?
When the 23rd June arrived, I really really afraid to back to
campus. There’re many reasons bothered me (again). First, I was afraid being
alone in my “kosan” (in english, I said it “a dorm”) because all of my friends
(or maybe I can called the “roomates”) was going back to their hometown. And
the second reasons, I still afraid I can’t adapted around other 13 students. ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ. Okay, i’m really an introvert
person, and also shy for do anything. I have a really hard time for starting
communication with new people. That’s really trouble and bothered me. Really!
So, with many afraidness, I went to Bandung, to my university. Be brave! Don’t be a Loser, Nurul!
Like in the schedule before, start from 23rd June, we started to
practised many performances which will be perform during the program. We
practised: Traditional dance (from Jakarta, Padang, Kalimantan), Angklung, and
Traditional songs. We almost practised at 9 a.m until 5 p.m from 23rd
June until 27th June. (sorry, this sentence just to over-act of me
LOL).
By the way, in 25th or 26th June (I’m forget),
Puspita sent us a picture, that made me can’t sleep well. Yeah!! She sent a
picture of Chonbuk National University’s students!! She sent your picture,
guys!. I’m really excited, and sure, I can’t sleep well. I’m just to happy. 호호호호!!
this picture made me can't sleep well at the night. Just to excited!!! |
We arrived there around 08.00 a.m. And we waited you all (read: Korean
students) woke up.ㅋㅋㅋ.
So, tell me the story in 28th
June!
Okay.. I’ll started my story. (you
actually did it, Nurul!!).
As I told you before, we arrived in Pengalengan at Malabar’s hotel around 8
a.m. I forget to told you, in the way to Malabar’s hotel, I feel super dizzy
because the road is really really tortuos plus
I didn’t got my breakfast (called “sahur” in Ramadhan). When we arrived, we
feel so strange. So quite here... hello~
So, we decided to walked around the hotel.
It wasn’t take a long time, finally (for the first time in forever) we met
the Professor (and also The Director). His name is Mr. Won Gyu Choi. We called
him, Prof. Choi. He talked english very well. And that time, he welcomed us and
he started talked about his activities in recent months. He also told us,
there’s a scholarship program to study in Korea (and I feel so excited!). For
apply this scholarship program, we’ve to understand korean language well, based
TOPIC’s level (like TOEFEL in english language). Okay, next!!
Prof. Choi told many stories, and we finally knew that Korean’s students
still in their dreams (I mean they still sleeping) because they just arrived
there around 4 a.m. Prof. Choi told that they’ll woke up at 9 a.m. and Okay...
we’ll waiting.
Oh by the way, I almost forget to
told you first. There’re 49 students from Chonbuk National University plus one director and two vice
directors. The 49 students devided became two teams. First team, called “Urang
Baraya” who consisted with 20 students; and Second team, called “Kumaha Damang”
who consisted with 29 students. Each team has their own leader. Indonesian team
also devided into two teams. Each team consisted with 7 students but we only has
a leader.
First Indonesian Team: Zulfa, Desca, Heppy, Rizal, Monica, Angga, and Fina.
Second Indonesian Team: Puspita, Elisabeth, Julvin, Fajar, Farhan, Risna,
and me.
Around 9 a.m. Prof. Choi started to introduced us with the student’s team
leader from each team. For the first team’s leader is Lee Min Hyuk; and for the
second team’s leader is Anh Sin Jung. (Honestly, when the first time I heard
their name, I can’t remember anything). After that, Prof. Choi also introduced
us with the two vice directors; Mr. Lee Hae Jong for the first team, and Mr. Lee Du Hyeon for the second team.
After that, Prof. Choi told us to went to outside. What a suprise! All of korean’s students were in there. We all
gathered together (form a circle) for introduction’s section. Indonesian’s
students must be stood separately. I really remember that I stood between two
taller korean guys; Lee Daekwang and Anh Sin Jung (at that time, I can’t
remember their name). I feel so.....small. This was the first introduction
between us and I really really can’t heard clearly when they (korean students)
told their name, so I can’t remember anything.
After the introduction’s section, they’ve breakfast. We can’t join them because
of Ramadhan so we just brought our luggages to Malabar Hotel’s office (because
our bungalow was still cleaned by the
staff) and we sat on there for saved our energy.
sorry for our face. LOL |
Around 10.30 a.m (maybe), we gathered together again and went to “Sunday
Market”. Indonesian students helped them (Korean students) for shopping. We went
there by public transportation (called “angkot”) which were already rented. They
wanted to bought some fruits, and the TOP list were mango, orange, and banana. Because
me and Risna언니 was in the
second team, so we helped the korean students from the second team too. Eventhough
we still can’t remember their name, but we can knew them based on their
clothes. Second team’s members wore green clothes. For the fist time, we felt so strage, but lately
we feel so excited. We (me and Risna언니) helped them to got discount. 대박!! So interesting.
It was very hard to found mango because it wasn’t mango’s season. We just
only found orange and banana. And I really shocked that they (Korean students)
really really love Indonesia’s bananas!! They bought all of them. What a lucky banana’s seller! They also bought
ice creams because the weather was so hot and dry. What a lucky ice cream’s seller too!.
By the way, there’s one of them who wanted to bought a veil (they called it
“hijab”). So we helped her. When me and Risna언니 helped her to choose the hijab, suddenly Mr. Lee Du Hyeon came to us, and pointed at me. He wanted me to follow him. Godness!! What happen? I feel little bit
panic. But apparently, he wanted me to help him for bought “timun suri” (I
don’t know what it’s name in english). He can’t speak english so I helped him to bought 3 kilograms of it.
After that, we continued our trip. We came to many places (including
Elementary school, Junior high school, and Asiana Welfare Center) that we’ll
teach or visit on there. It’s just like a survey’s place. After that, we back
to hotel. I feel so tired. We have a free time until 3 p.m. (suddenly
sleeping).
We have meeting time. In this time, not all of korean students joined
(maybe because the place it’s not enough, so just a leader of the division who
joined it) but we (all of Indonesian students joined it eventhough we still
feel so sleepy). Prof.Choi lead this general meeting. He told us about the
schedules around this program. It was like a long presentation... (kidding).
After the general meeting, there’s next meeting. First team and Second team
did it separately. I was in the second team. This meeting depends by each
division (or you can called it “sub-team”). First, the leaders of each sub-team
did introduction again. After that, they gave us the list of sub-teams.
There’re: Korean language, Taekwondo, Computer, Drawing and Craft (Art), and
Recreation. This sub-team will teach in the school started from tomorrow.
Indonesian students joined to different sub-teams.
Korean Language: Farhan and Puspita언니
Taekwondo: Julvin오빠
Computer: Puspita언니
Recreation: Fajar오빠 and Elisabeth언니
Drawing and Craft: me and Risna 언니
Because I (and also Risna언니) joined the art
team, so we continued the meeting with korean students who in the same team. On
that time, there’re 3 korean students in there, so we do introducing again.
They are Jae Hyun오빠, Jisu언니, and Miyeon언니. For the first, I just can remember Jae Hyun오빠’s name because he told us to
called him “Jack”. But, lately I can remember Jisu and Miyeon’s name too.
In that time, they told us what will they want to do tomorrow. There’s
coloring and scratching time, so we practised it together. We colored pokemon’s
picture and flags (Korea and Indonesia’s flag). After that, we drew on
scratch’s paper. We also talked about the meaning of the colours on our flags.
They’re so funny, friendly, and very nice! They studied how to said the
name of colour in Indonesian language. That’s so cute. We (me and Risna언니) can’t stop laughing.
After the meeting, we have a time for rest our body and also waiting for
Adzan’s Maghrib. Around 6 p.m, we went to dining room (actually it’s the same
place with meeting room), and have a dinner together with korean students. And yeah,
Indonesian students must to sat separately again. Oh yeah, they also brought kimchi too, original from Korea!! And I
also tasted it. I have try to eat kimchi at Korean restaurant in Bandung city,
but I think, this kimchi more more delicious than what I eat before. Original
taste must be better!!
After we have dinner, Indonesian students back to their bungalows and pray Maghrib. We have a
free time until 07.30 p.m. And at that time, we back to meeting room (again)
for meeting (again) (and again), and it was introducing time (again) (again)
(and again).
It’s almost the fourth times in this day for introducing time. We pointed
each other to introduce ourself in front of the room. All of us feel so bored.
Me too. I feel so bored and I still can’t remember the others name. But
suddenly, when Jack오빠 finished his
introduction’s time, he called my name to introduced myself. Godness!! I can’t believe that Jack오빠 will remember my name. (suddenly
crying of happiness). Eventhough he called me “nurrud” or whatever it is.
LOL!!! It’s okay~
After the bored introducing time finished, we have a time to sleeping. But
I totally wrong. Indonesian students practised practised and practised for
tomorrow. Yeah, tomorrow is the opening ceremony and we’ll performed at 9 a.m. We’ll
showed angklung and tradisional’s song (a medley). So....we.....have....to.....prac.....ti.......seeeed.
We finished at 11.18 p.m..... and I feel like die.
Wow it’s a long day of 28th
June! Can you tell me, what’s happened on 29th?
Yeah, I feel like 28th June was a long day, but I feel so happy.
So, lemme continue my story start from “sahur” (early breakfast on Ramadhan’s
periode).
Hoaaaam #yawning. Honestly, I didn’t
sleep well this night. Why? That’s because the bed was to small for me and Fina언니. And also, the night was so
cold. Very very cold!
Oh, I almost forget. Indonesian
students lived in two bungalows. One
for boys, and one for girls. The bungalows
has two rooms and one bathroom. So, around this program, I shared with 3 other
students in one room. They are Risna언니, Monica언니, and Fina언니. Our room has two beds, so I shared it with Fina언니. Next!
Pict of our bungalows
At 4 a.m, all of Indonesian students who muslim woke up. It was a very cold
morning! We have to pushed our seld to went to dining room for “sahur”. Prof.
Choi told us that we just need to eat, so we walked to there. But our
expectation was wrong!. There’s no food which already served. So, we back to
our bungalow and waiting for a food
that Mr. Choi’s friend (he actually the one of Vice director) arrived with the
foods. Mr.Choi also told us that we have to cooked “sahur” by ourself for the
next days. Okay~
Food arrived!! And it was “Nasi Goreng”. We ate together. It’s little bit
salty but... Thankyou Sir!
After that, we back to our bed again. We’re still really tired. We slept
until 6 a.m. No one woke up until one of Korean student came to our bungalow and knocked the door. Godness!! We just late to do warming
up!!!
Warming up lead by two other sides. First, Indonesian students lead the
“Poco-poco’s dance” and then Korean students lead the calisthenics too.
(like in this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oz1oVvNuSBg
)
After the warming up’s section, we all got ready to go the place that
opening ceremony will be held. Indonesian students use their Batik’s clothes.
And around 07.30 a.m. we went to the place.
When we arrived at that place, there’re some problems. I don’t know how to
explain this problem because it’s so hard for me to understand it. So, I
pretend to don’t care... and yeah, why
should I told about the problem? Who cares? Next!
The problems made the schedules disorganized and the opening ceremony was
delayed. It’s not good because the childern (I mean, the students of each
school) already waiting in their schools. So, for the solution, the team
devided again. Indonesian students who not played angklung must went to the
school with the other korean students. That’s me and also Risna언니. We’re not angklung players.
that's the picture after the opening ceremony. I didn't see any-performance. so I just can see this picture again and again. |
In that day, the Art’s team and Taekwondo’s team has to went to Sukalilah’s
Elementary school together. Julvin오빠(who helped
Taekwondo’s team) must played angklung in the opening ceremony. The art team
has two Indonesian students (me and Risna언니), so I transfered to Taekwondo team to help them. BAAM!!! I feel little bit panic and also
afraid.
Actually, it’s okay to helped Taekwondo’s team because I can know with
others Korean students. Yeah, in that time I knew: Daekwang오빠, Eunji언니, Yong Il오빠, Hwant오빠, and Ha Eun.
me and Taekwondo's Team. (cr: Yong Il오빠's facebook). actually, I took so many pictures, but almost all of them was in korean students camera. ㅋㅋ |
Helped the Taekwondo’s team was the great opportunity for me and that’s was
very exhausting experience. Why? That’s
because all of their activities held in out door (in the field). That’s very
very hot and dusty in this dry season. And also, I should little bit shouted to
coordinate the children. But... At least,
it’s so fun and interesting to helped Taekwondo’s team!!
By the way, I’ve a little experience during that time. Yeah, they (taekwondo’s
team) also felt so thirsty. I thought that they didn’t prepare the water. So, Daekwang오빠 asked me if there’s water inside
the office (in this school) or not. I asked to the teacher but they said there’s
no water in there because Ramadhan.
Then, Daekwang오빠 said, “it’s okay”,
but the teacher felt so pity because they afraid that korean students will got
dehidration. So, they asked their students to bought the mineral’s water in
store. We didn’t know that the store was very far from the school. After the
students arrived, they looked so happy. Taekwondo’s team felt so sorry and also
grateful to the students.
The class finished at 12 p.m. and we back to the Hotel. Me and Risna언니 have a free time until dinner
time. I felt so tired and my face like burned. So I choose to sleep.
Around at 5 p.m. all the girls in bungalow
(Indonesian students) just realized that we had not bought anything to be
cooked in the morning. So, me and Risna언니 volunteered as a volunteer for shopping. Then, we
went to small market near the Hotel for shopping. Just potluck shopping. Ah!! Before we went to the market, we
met Mr. Choi. He asked us, what’re we doing?
We bought just the most important things for cook: rice, eggs, vegetables,
tempe, instant seasoning, oil, and flavoring. We have bad feeling that we also were
going to cook tomorrow. #sobbing.
We back from the shopping around 06.10 p.m. Dinner time just started at 6
p.m. We thought that we just late in 10 minutes. Risna언니 said “Ahhh... maybe there’re many foods left”, but
I suddenly said “We don’t know what will happen during the 10 minutes”.
And the thought it proved !
When we (me and Risna언니) walked to the
dinning room, whe met Prof. Choi (again). He told us that the food has run out.
First, I thought that it’s just a joke, but it’s totally serious! We ran out of
food!! (cry). Prof. Choi lead us to the kitchen. We hope that we can found the
food left. We looked around the kitchen but we can’t find anything except the
cold rice. So as not to waste the time, we told to Mr. Choi that we’ll cook the
eggs. After hearing it, (maybe) he felt relieved and leave us.
When we ate, suddenly Mr. Lee Hae Jong entered the kitchen and told us our
team left us 2 plates of food. LOL!!! I don’t know how to say. I just feel so
full (full of what? I dunno).
After dinner, Indonesian students held a meeting. Actually it’s a time for
share our story during this day. Not too long, Korean students enter the
meeting room and we got a meeting again with them. We separated again and sat
by the team that we joined. Well, I
back to my habitat, Art’s team. I feel so happy. LOL.
The Art’s team sat beside Taekwondo’s team, and I felt so sorry I can’t
join in there again. Actually, Julvin오빠 already back to them. But Ha Eun teased me. He said
like, “Oh, you’re not in Taekwondo’s team? Taekwondo isn’t fun? Okay.. go away~”.
LOL!! Sorry guys, I didn’t think like
that. Taekwondo is fun but it made me feel so tired. So I choose, Jack오빠!! ㅋㅋㅋ
First photo that we took together. that was first meeting. (cr: Eunbi언니's camera and Jack오빠's camera) |
Art’s team prepared for the next class. First, they asked to us (me and
Risna언니) about many
things that student’s draw in this morning. They asked how to say “mountain,
car, sun, cloud, tree, etc” in Indonesian language. And also, they asked how to
say daily conversation in Indonesian language, like “let’s take a picture
together” and “can I help you?”, etc. They’re so funny when learned to say
Indonesian language. So cute!
After that, we also did handpainting
together. We draw many pictures in our hand, like draw a love, rainbow, keropi, pink bunny, ghost, doraemon,
etc. I choose to draw a duck. But the result it’s so poor (failed at the first
trial). Miyeon언니 also draw at my
hand. She draw a pink bunny and that’s so perfect. 100 points!!
After did the handpainting, we back to our room and sleep.
And And the thought it proved (again)!!
At 3 a.m., me and Risna언니 had a turn
cooking for “sahur”. #scream
By the way, I haven’t introduce our Art team members! They’re not only Jack오빠, Jisu언니 and Miyeon언니, but also there are 5 members again. I’ll
introduce them later.
to be continue
